CHHITKUL TO YAMUNOTRI ( Off the Beaten Track ) 18 Nights/ 19 Days
   

This is less frequent trek, in spite of moderate category one required good physical condition due to its rough terrain on the way to the pass and considered one of the most beautiful trek.

Trek starts from Chhitkul the last village of valley to the Garhwal, the land of birth of Gange, a holiest river of India honored as mother Ganga. Trail goes through forest and meadows (summer pasture land of shepherds) below the pass moronic trail leads to the top providing the extensive view of surrounding Himalayas. Descend to the beautiful valley of Harkidoon inhabited by Bhotia people, Exploring the villages and Yamunotri a pilgrimage site one among of the 4 pilgrimage site (Other are Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath popularly known as Chardham)

Day 01: Arrival Delhi
Reception in the air port, transfer to the hotel, O/N in the hotel.
   
Day 02: Dehli to Simla(1900m)
Early morning departure to Simla by Kalka Shatabdi Express Train. Arrive into Shimla (The queen of the hill). Simla is capital of the Himachal Pradesh and one of the most famous hill stations for the vacation round the year. O/N in the hotel.
   
Day 03: Visit Simla
After breakfast climb to the Jhaku hill to visit the Hanuman temple (the monkey God, museum and Advance study hall, back to hotel for lunch. Free afternoon to visit the mall O/N in the hotel.
   
Day 04: Simla to Sarahan (1920m) 190 km.
After breakfast, drive via Kufri, Narkandha and descend to the Rampur, erestwhile Himalayan kingdom of Rampur Busheher . Continue to Sarahan the summer capital of the Rampur Busheher. The Visit 1500 years old temple of and one gets a magnificent view of the Shir Khand peaks.This temple is about. O/N in camp.
   
Day 05: Sarahan to Sangla - (3450m) 85 kms.
The gate way to Kinnaur, Leave for Sangla, also called Baspa Valley. Most beautiful valley of Kinnaur dominated by Kamru fort, visit the fort and village, o/n in camp.
   
Day 06: Sangla to Chitkul: 3450 Mtrs - 26 KMS.
last village of the valley, Chitkul and Rackchham, typical kinnauri architecture. One can trek through the villages for couple of hours. Over night in Chitkul.
   
Day 07: Chitkul - Doria Camp (4000 m) 5/6 h - 9Trek 1)
We go up initially to the Baspa river, then we will slant towards the south through wood. Stiff rise to the meadow of Doria. Camping, at the bottom of the forest.
   
Day 08: Doria Camp - Zupika Gad (4500 m) 4/5 h – (Trek 2)
The rise continues through increasingly mineral landscapes and by relatively soft inclined tracks. Camping at Zapika Gad.
   
Day 09: Zupika Gad - Barasu pass (5150 m) Lal Pathar (4450 m) (5/6 h-Trek 3)
We will climb in direction of the pass of Barasu (5150 m). The slope is stiff until the bypass. After passing the pass, we will go down again to the camping of Dohra Nallas.
   
Day 10: Lal Pathar - Har Ki Doon (3550 m) [5/6 h – (Trek 4)
Long descent from the high valley of Ton, one of the affluent of Yamuna whose we will find the source in the next days. Camping in the splendid mountain pastures of Har Ki Doon.
   
Day 11: Har Ki Doon - Osla (2550 m) [4/5 h – (Trek 5)
Descending continues while the valley is tightening. Camping close to the traditional village of Osla, highest perched of the valley.
   
Day 12: Osla - Ruinsara Tal (3321m) [5/6 h – (Trek 6)
Increase in a side valley in direction of the east through a pines forest. Camping close to the Lake Ruinsara Tal.
   
Day 13: Ruinsara Tal - base Camp of Yamunotri Pass (4200 m) (5 hours - Trek 7)
The vegetation rarefies progressively. Camping at the bottom of pass of Yamunotri.
   
Day 14: Base camp -Yamunotri pass (5170 m) -Damni (3965m) (6/7 h-Trek 8)
We have to pass some snow banks before arriving to the pass of Yamunotri (5170 m). Long re-descending until the mountain pastures of Damni. Long day of walk! Camping.
   
Day 15: Damni - Yamunotri. (3200 m) (3/4 hrs- Trek 9)
Short day of walk. We will find the forest and soon we will arrive at the sacred place of Yamunotri, which we will visit, in company of many pilgrims and sadhus. Camping.
   
Day 16: Yamunotri - Hanuman Chatti (2150 m) 4 h- Trek 10
Descending by a very good path taken by thousands of pilgrims and Sadhus. End of trek. Overnight stay in a lodge or camping close to Hanuman Chatti.
   
Day 17: Hanuman Chatti - Rishikesh [7/8 H of road - 180 km]
The road curves to the valley of Yamuna in direction of south, in direction of Rishikesh. Discover of the city and of its ghats. Overnight stay at the hotel.
   
Day 18: Explore Rishikesh: “Sanctuary of saint and Sadhu”
Rishikesh, situated on the bank of river Ganga and surrounded on three sides by Himalayan ranges is a great pilgrimage centre of India. Visit Ancients temples and Ashram. At Trivani Ghat, grand arti (religios song) on the Ghat of the Ganga when charges with the emotion, the air resound with the music and chant offerd as worship of Lord. By evening. Piligrim flots hundered of little flower’s bowls in the river with oil lamps;
   
Day 19: Rishikesh to Delhi via Haridwar 260 kms / 6 hours
26 KMS drive to Haridwar Visit Haridwar. Afternoon drive to Delhi, Transfer to Hotel. Night in Hotel in Delhi.
   
Day 20: Delhi Visit and Evening departure to IGI airport.
Visit red fort, Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, Lotus temple and Humayun Tomb, passing by pressing evening transfer to International airport for Flight to onward destination.
